Mrs. Girija Raghavan is in the Audio, Video and Print media for the past 25 years. Starting her media career from All India Radio as a contributor, she had grown to be an Announcer and News Reader of All India Radio. Lending voice for commercial advertisements was also one of her creative abilities.
Further to this, she developed her expertise in writings for magazines and periodicals and became a freelance reporter. Her reports, interviews, articles, serials appeared in Anantha Vikadan,JuniorVikadan,Kalki,Mangayarmalar,Bommai,
Mangai,Pesumpadam,Kungumam,Rajam,Indian express,Aside etc(Since 1985 to 1995).
Parallaly when Madras Doordarshan commenced she was a presenter,interviewer in the television also(1986-1995).
While she was into all these media activities, she was employed in a nationalized bank from 1977 to 1991.
Leaving her lucrative bank job, she floated a company and became an entrepreneur. The company was named as  “Gayathri Cassettes” which produced pre-recorded  audio cassettes.
While making programmes for the satellite channels, she ventured into her  own production in 1995. She floated the company as “Gayathri Creations” in which television productions are made. She started producing programmes for Doordarshan & Sun TV.   She has produced a number of programmes on varied subjects in Raj TV, Raj Digital plus, Vijay TV, Doordarshan, Podhigai and Win TV.
Since 1997,Girija Raghavan ,took a clear focus on women development And started producing programmes for women. . Since her television shows had a wide reach, with the continuous support of women, , she started a Tamil Monthly Magazine “Ladies Special”.It is  is now very popular among women. This is published by “Gayathri Publications” another company of Girija Raghavan.
Now, this magazine has readers around the world. The magazine and the television programmes ,gained more and more women strength for Girija raghavan and she was adding all possible activities towards the growth of womenhood.She took entrepreneurship in women  as her main focus and had been helping women who do business. Now she is helping them in marketing their products in several ways. She conducts programmes and exhibitions of the products of women entrepreneurs, all over India and also abroad.
 Government bodies like NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) and other institutions assign her the responsibility of conducting exhibitions for their Self Help Groups. Government departments like Co-optex, Handlooms hire her services for studying and making reports on their schemes and in market promotions.
As the companys started growing, many prestigious clients started utilising her expertise in their audio and visual advertisements in 1997
 
Girija Raghavan with her solid experience gives consultancy in various fields. Her strengths are mainly on publicity, advertisement, market analysis.
POTHYS, a leading textile brand, has hired her expertise and now she is the consultant to POTHYS in publicity and advertisement..
Girija Raghavan is a trainer also. Corporate companies invite her to handle sessions on the topics like personality development, communication skills, interpersonal relationships, Time Management etc. Women colleges entrust entrepreneurial development and soft skills programmes to her. For schools, she is good in handling memory techniques, leadership qualities, goal setting etc.
She had traveled to USA, Malaysia and Kuwait. She was invited to Malaysia as a Government guest to go around the country and to write about that in her magazine “Ladies Special”. Also she was invited in 2007 to participate in  Global Dharma Youth conference and present a paper on “media’s role in growing Dharma”- at Malaysia.
She is well known for her novel ideas and creative presentations. She is invited at various international conferences all over the world to present papers on different topics.She has presented a paper on the topic Hindu dharma at a confrence held at Malaysia.
She also has a guidance cell for Women Entrepreneurs by name BRAWE (Business Related Advice for Women Entrepreneurs) under which she gives counseling for women who want to start business and run them and conducts seminars and workshops for them.
She went to Kuwait as a guest of a well-known organisation “Frontliners” to anchor a Ladies Talk show “Pengal Pecharangam”. This show appeared in Podigai in her programme Sagodari.
With lot of stage events for women all over Tamil Nadu and with continuous TV shows for women, Mrs.Girija Raghavan is now quite popular among women. Added to all these things, Mrs. Girija Raghavan ‘s passion is to unite worldwide Indian women.
